Emmanuel Balogun

Associate Professor, Skidmore College

Emmanuel Balogun, is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the International Affairs Program at Skidmore College. His research focuses on multilateralism and emerging economies in Africa. He is the author of the book, Region-Building in West Africa: Convergence and Agency in ECOWAS. Emmanuel is a visiting fellow with the Emerging Market and Developing Economies Research Initiative at the Hoover Institution and Associate Research Fellow with United Nations University Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies. He was a Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) International Affairs Fellow, where he served as Policy Advisor in the U.S. Department of State Bureau of African Affairs. Emmanuel was Principal Investigator for a Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad grant to help build education partnerships between the U.S. and Ghana. He previously taught at Georgetown University and Webster University, is a CFR Term Member and serves on the Board of Trustees at New England College. Emmanuel is the founder and principal of Imole International, an international strategic consulting firm focused on helping companies and governments develop, implement, and expand their international strategic plans in emerging markets.
